I am free!
Mar. 16th, 2010 08:10 pmI want to thank my close friends for commenting on my last entry and giving me advice. It helped more than you know, and you all cheered me up. It was really nice to hear that you knew what I was going through. I am sorry you ever went through something similar, of course, but it still felt good to be understood.
I am now free from WANO. Things have worked out great.
I have left, but not officially. I have told them what I can consider helping them with, and we have agreed on certain terms. I remain as treasurer and I will handle the money that goes in and out from the account. But nothing else. David - fellow board member, with guidance from Oskar - will take over all other tasks involved. I will have constant contact with them to make sure that they don't do anything crazy. And at the end of the year I suppose I'll have a look at everything they've done to make sure it's all in order, since I'll be partly responsible for it.
A little responsibility is fun, anyway, since I don't do much else in my life. I might help with some practical things at the coming events if I feel like I'm up for it. Otherwise I won't, and they know that.
From now on it is my choice. And I can either resign officially next year, or join full-time again... If I feel I want to. And, of course, if I give up and completely want to quit 100% - officially - before then, and never look back, I can inform them of this and we have one of those extra annual meetings THEN. During which they'll vote for a new treasurer and I can resign. So I can do whatever I want. It's up to me.
This feels great! I am able to stay and observe from the sidelines and help with small portions of their economy, and nothing else. This helps them a great deal, and I feel much better! This way I'm basically out, but I don't have to feel super bad for ditching them. And as it is now I am not doing anything I feel I have to do because I feel bad. I am doing the only thing I, myself, offered to do. So this is all my choice.
I am so happy.
Thank you all for your support!
