Oh, don't worry, I fully understand. It took me a season to get over it. The effects are kind of bad, overall it's kind of silly. But I accept that. And also, I tend to like things other people consider dumb. I always admit that I like lame things, haha. I'm well aware of it.
It got better, though, in my opinion. Like with any new show, they didn't really seem to know what they wanted to do with it, in the beginning, in terms of how to tell the story they wanted to tell. It's far from perfect, but I like it because it's this extreme fantasy world where everything is feel-good despite being... sad at times. Things can be sad, but they're never angsty. I needed a feel-good show for entertainment!
And Xena is silly, but also really, really good. That's a proper show! It can do crack, average comedy, action, and the most touching, emotional stories. I love that show.
