I went to Stockholm with [livejournal.com profile] frejasanne and that was a blast! I followed her around everywhere because I had no idea where we were going, and without her I would've probably gotten lost. Or taken literally hours to get to places. And I would've stayed inside in misery instead of braving town in the rain.

Met up with friends from all over Sweden, sort of, and one local chick actually living in Stockholm. They were all lovely, and it was fun although I was very tired, and the SciFi Game and Film convention was brilliant. Walked around. Met a random guy who knew me, he was nice!
Had two proper conversations with Michael Shanks, got an autograph on my "Daniel-Hat" (lol, the kind of boonie early seasons-Daniel wears a lot), and took two pictures with him. I mean, the actual photoshoot kind.

I suppose I might post about the experience more in detail later?
But right now I am miserable, and I have been since Tuesday, because I have a terrible cold. Worth it! So worth it. I don't mind, really, if this is the price I have to pay for a good time in Stockholm. But I do feel miserable and drugged and tired, and therefore uncomfortable ranting online. Because I honestly have no idea what I'm typing half the time. I'm sort of on the edge of being dizzy most of the time. But I'm sure it'll be fine soon.

As for Sanctuary, I haven't even posted about Fugue or anything...

Fugue was brilliant! I usually find Will kind of overused and boring compared to some of the other characters, and the random focus on his and Abby's relationship is like BLAH. But I really didn't mind in Fugue. Perhaps because I have a weakness ('Weekness'? Really, self?) for musicals.

The musical numbers could've been better, and several, but they were fine! I mean, they weren't bad. I just expected more. More elaborate music to go with it, and more of the cast to sing. It felt more like a regular episode featuring a little bit of fun singing, rather than a proper full-on musical episode.

But it was fiiiine! I saw it as a regular episode with bonus singing. They got so much emotion out of it. I loved the singing. They all did it perfectly.
I think the music messed with my head, because I not only approved of another Will plot, especially not one with his random girlfriend, I actually found him kind of yummy. That's new.

Abby's growing on me. I think I can say that I like Abby now.

And the acting was brilliant. The way Abby really pleads with her eyes, and the way Helen looked when having to explain the situation to her. And poor awkward Will on the side, and Abby's look of confusion when she can't understand what Will is saying when he mentions the alleyway.

But later he sings, and isn't it gorgeous!

Daddy Magnus was a really pleasant surprise! I thought they'd simply gone with random songs instead of regular score for a moment, what with it being a special musical episode anyway. Because I couldn't figure out who was singing, and how it fit. But then daddy appeared and it all made sense.

Amanda Tapping shines once again! She didn't utter a single word. She flipped through books, and looked inside an empty cup. All of the emotions the script must've called for - words on paper - she brought to life right there! I could truly see and sense what Helen was feeling. Amanda is amazing!

They all did a really, really good job with the episode.

I've liked the last few episodes, actually. I could go on in detail about pros and cons, but big picture is that I've liked them. It was nice seeing Kate again. I've missed her.
Although this whole Hollow Earth story is still... if not boring, just... dunno. I feel nothing?

I honestly don't know if Biggie being bad is a twist or a double twist. I thought it was a bit easy to cure him...
But then again this is Sanctuary. Some things have a tendency to work themselves out fast. That's why I was surprised they actually got hurt after the explosion. I thought they'd just drive off and then be all right. It was kind of cool.

And naw, Kate and Garris. So cute.

But seriously, Sanctuary, get your shit together. You mention SALLY! "Sally" the mermaid. Really? Also we got to see Ashley again. But you can't even namedrop John Druitt? Noo.
I am legit starting to suspect something sneaky is up, because they honestly can't be this daft. And then I read this interview with Chris Heyerdahl (some general S4 spoilers) and I am about to flip shit.

Whether the character is dead or alive, or coming back or not, can they give us SOMETHING!? Anything! I am going insane waiting for any kind of news. If his last appearance in the present time was his death, can you make it a bit more obvious? Show it, say it, do something! Let us mourn.
If not, if... ANYTHING! Just. Say. Something! If they've dropped him forever, then say so! It's frustrating not knowing.

I hate when things are left like this.
